Maintenance is what keeps a grader precise
The motor grader does precision work in road building and fine grading. Play in the circle gear, drawbar connections or blade slide rails lets the blade wander and keeps the surface from coming out as smooth as it should.
On road jobs, a grader travels long distances, and the transmission, tandem and brakes carry that load. Regular maintenance and early intervention protect both the quality of the work and the life of the machine.
We carry out maintenance and most repairs at your job site, and work that requires an overhaul at our Ankara workshop.
What we do on motor graders
Everything your grader needs, from periodic maintenance to blade mechanism adjustment:
- Periodic maintenance based on operating hours, oil and filter changes
- Transmission fault diagnosis and overhaul
- Tandem repair
- Taking up play in the circle gear, drawbar and blade slide rails
- Seal replacement on blade lift, side shift and angle cylinders
- Hydraulic pump and control valve repair
- Steering, articulation and brake system repair
- Engine fault diagnosis and engine overhaul
Common motor grader faults we see
Blade wobble and play
Wear in the circle gear, drawbar joint and blade slide rails makes the blade wobble and leaves a wavy surface.
Blade drifting down under load
Internal leakage in the lift cylinders or a valve problem keeps the blade from holding its set level.
Shifting problems
Low transmission pressure, worn clutches or an electronic control fault make gear shifts delayed or harsh.
Tandem noise and leaks
Chain and gear wear in the tandem shows up as noise during operation and oil leaking from the seals.
Heavy steering
Problems with the steering pump, valve or articulation cylinders make steering heavy and the machine harder to keep on course.
Weakening brakes
Brake disc wear and leaks in the brake hydraulics create a risk, especially when traveling downhill.

Common questions
Can play in the circle and blade be fixed?
Yes. We measure and adjust the play in the circle gear, slide rails and wear plates, and replace worn parts when needed.
Can you repair a grader on the job site?
We carry out most maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs at your job site with our service vans. Work that requires the workshop, such as a transmission overhaul, is planned together with you.
Do you replace cutting edges and end bits?
Yes. We supply and replace wear parts such as cutting edges and end bits.
Do you also service older grader series?
Yes. We service all Komatsu motor graders, old and new generation.
