Komatsu Engine Overhaul to Factory Tolerances
Why it matters

Why an engine overhaul shouldn't wait

The engine is one of the most valuable components of any construction machine. Running on worn piston rings, liners and bearings first drives up oil and fuel consumption, then cuts performance. If the symptoms are ignored, wear that an overhaul could have fixed can turn into permanent damage to the crankshaft, block or cylinder head.

A timely overhaul prevents a major failure that could stop your machine when you least expect it. With a planned overhaul, you decide when the downtime happens, instead of being stuck with an engine failure at the busiest point of the job.

A properly performed engine overhaul gets the machine working efficiently again and helps protect its resale value. A machine with an overhaul record is a far more reassuring option for a buyer.

What our engine overhaul includes

An overhaul means disassembling the engine, cleaning and measuring its parts one by one, and renewing any that are out of tolerance. The exact scope is confirmed by the measurements taken after disassembly.

  • Engine disassembly, cleaning and measurement of parts
  • Cylinder head, valve and valve seat work
  • Piston, piston ring and liner replacement
  • Crankshaft inspection and renewal of main and connecting rod bearings
  • Injector inspection and replacement where needed
  • Oil pump, water pump and turbocharger inspection
  • Gasket set renewal and reassembly
  • Start-up and checks after reassembly
When you need it

Signs your engine may need an overhaul

01

Higher-than-normal oil consumption or blue exhaust smoke

02

Noticeable power loss along with black or white smoke

03

Heavy blow-by gas and oil vapor from the crankcase breather

04

A low oil pressure warning or knocking from the engine

05

Hard starting and rising fuel consumption

06

Fuel, coolant or metal particles in the oil

How we work

Our overhaul process

  1. Initial assessmentWe assess the engine's condition from the symptoms, measurements and, if needed, an oil check.
  2. Disassembly and measurementWe strip the engine down at our main workshop in Ankara and measure all critical parts to define the scope of the overhaul.
  3. Approval and overhaulWe share the scope and parts options with you and complete the overhaul once you approve.
  4. Testing and deliveryAfter reassembly, we run and check the engine and deliver it under warranty.
FAQ

Common questions

Overhaul or a new engine?

That decision depends on the measurements taken after disassembly. If major parts such as the block and crankshaft are still serviceable, an overhaul is often the sensible choice, and we report the engine's condition to you clearly.

Is the engine overhaul covered by warranty?

Yes. Every engine we overhaul is delivered under warranty. You can get details on the warranty terms at the quote stage.

How long does an overhaul take?

It depends on the engine's condition and the parts required. Once disassembly and measurement are complete, we give you a clear work plan.

Do you also overhaul transmissions?

Yes. Besides engines, we also overhaul transmissions, hydraulic pumps and hydraulic control valves, all delivered under warranty.
