Common faults we see on Bomag machines
Weak vibration
Wear in the vibration pump or motor, or a valve or electrical fault, weakens the roller's vibration or keeps it from engaging at all.
Drum noise and heat
Worn eccentric bearings or low oil cause noise and heat from the drum. Left too late, the bearing can fail completely.
Asphalt sticking to the drum
Clogged nozzles, a faulty water pump or a filter problem cut off the water spray and cause asphalt to stick to the drum.
Uneven paving from the paver
A problem with screed heating, screed vibration or the material feed system leaves waves and surface defects in the laid asphalt.
Drum and pick wear on cold planers
Worn cutting picks and pick holders lower milling quality, strain the machine and can damage the drum itself.
Loss of travel power
Internal leakage in the hydrostatic drive pump or motors makes the machine struggle on grades and travel unevenly.

When should the vibration bearings be serviced?
